Let’s go back to 2012. I wrote my first blog. At that time, in content writing, “long and complex words” were all the rage. People believed that the more difficult the word, the better the article. I did the same. I picked up a dictionary and used words that even I didn’t fully understand.
But why?
Because that was the trend. Everyone was writing like that. And I was afraid that if I wrote in simple, everyday language, I would be seen as “weak.”
This is the trend I want to erase. The trend that tells us – “Be like others, or you are nothing.”
Do you remember when everyone used to put the same song on their mobile? When did everyone have the same quotes in their status? When every YouTuber spoke the same script? This is the same trend of imitation.

Once I watched an interview. A young artist was asked, “Who is your inspiration?” He immediately named a big artist. Then he was asked, “What new do you bring to your art?” He fell silent.
This is the problem. We are all so busy becoming a copy of someone else that we have forgotten to become ourselves.
This habit of copying is not new. It has existed in every era of history. But when social media arrived, this trend became an epidemic. Now, copying has become normal. Being original has become difficult.
This is the trend that should have been erased from history. When someone doesn’t do their own hard work but rides on the hard work of others. When someone doesn’t find their own voice but speaks in someone else’s voice.

Do you remember when Facebook and Instagram entered our lives? Initially, we were ourselves. We posted our own photos, shared our own thoughts. But gradually, we noticed that whatever was “trending” got more likes.

Being a content writer, I have seen hundreds of people copying. The same 5 tips, the same 10 ways, the same perfect life story. Everything identical. But the writer who succeeds is the one who is original. They speak their own mind, even if it’s not perfect.
